That’s when chaos occurred,” Nick Andreucci, one of the passengers told the New York Times. He said a passenger tried to open the back door of the train but did not move. Then, they kicked the window open and all the others jumped out.
According to the initial investigation, the train side panel is in contact with the third rail, turning on the material under the car, said the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority.
Savior evacuated 200 passengers from the train. No one was injured.
“We are very disappointed that this incident occurred and sincerely apologized to our motorists who were on the train, as well as for our overall passengers,” said Transportation Authority. “With a broader inspection that has taken place, we will take every step needed to prevent this from happening again.”
