Zero Covid China Policy
Under Zero Covid’s policy, China has drastically cut international flight connectivity in the last two years to protect itself from Coronavirus which first appeared in the City of Central China in December 2019.
China is currently processing the list of hundreds of Indian students who want to return to the country to rejoin their tertiary institutions.
More than 23,000 Indian students who mostly study medicine are reported to be trapped at home due to visa covid restrictions. India has sent a list of several hundred students after China searched for their names who wanted to return to continue their studies.
Some students who were stranded from Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Russia and several other countries began to arrive with rental flights in recent weeks.
China also allows flights from various countries but not from India. Reportedly, the two countries are in talks to restore limited flights between the two countries.
The Chinese economy has shrunk during Covid buds
Promise Mr. Li to open China came when the Chinese economy was devastated by zero covid policy which resulted in prolonged locking from top cities that damaged the business and chain of industrial supply.
The second largest economy in the world has contracted sharply in the second quarter of plunge to 0.4%, the lowest in two years, according to official data released on July 15.
This is the lowest growth rate since the Chinese economy shrank 6.8% in the first quarter of 2020 after Coronavirus that appeared in Wuhan and then spread to the world to cover most countries.
The economic slowdown came ahead of the ruling communist party at the Key Congress once in five years which is expected to be held soon, which is widely expected to support the third term that has never happened before for President Xi Jinping.
Mr. XI, 68, will be the only Chinese leader after the founder of the Mao Zedong party who continued his power for more than two five years.
