Around 1.05 crore domestic passengers travel by air in June, around 12.5 percent lower than 1.2 crore traveling in May, the DGCA flight regulator said on Friday.
Overall, 5.72 Crore people traveled on domestic flights in the January-June period 2022, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) which was stated in his monthly statement.
Indigo – The largest operator in India – carrying 59.83 lakh passengers in June, 56.8 percent of shares from the domestic market, mentioned.
Spicejet flew 10.02 LAKH passengers and first flying 9.99 LAKH passengers in June this year, according to data shared by DGCA. Vistara, Air India, AirAsia India and Water Alliance brought 9.92 Lakh, 7.83 Lakh, 5.9 Lakh, 1.2 Lakh Passengers, each, in June, the data showed.
The residential level or the burden factor for spicejet is 84.1 percent in June, DGCA noted. Residential rates for Indigo, Vistara, Go First, Air India and AirAsia India are 78.6 percent, 83.8 percent, 78.7 percent, 75.4 percent and 75.8 percent, respectively, in June 2022, he added .
Over the past two years, the aviation sector has been significantly affected because of the travel restrictions imposed in India and other countries given Pandemi Covid.
DGCA data states that in June this year, AirAsia India has the best time performance of 89.8 percent at four Metro-Bengaluru, Delhi, Hyderabad and Mumbai airports.
Vistara and Indigo are in second and third positions in the four airports in June with 86.4 percent and 84.5 percent on time performance, said DGCA.
